dear Dr please guide me. its my first pregnancy after one year of marriage. I was taking m folate tablet and a calcium sachet in starting week of pregnancy. one Dr prescribed me duphaston to take twice a day. After taking this medicine I am experiencing light pink discharge. is there any side effects of this medicine. my pregnancy is of 5 weeks and 5 days. please I m worried of pink discharge
w.salam in first trimester u dont need calcium supplements just improve ur diet.as for as duphestan is concerned u bleeding is not a side effect of it.

Duphaston is basically prescribed in early pregnancy to make it strong if a doctor suspects the pregnancy is weak . So duphaston is a good medicine . Pink discharge is not due to duphaston rather duphaston is trying to control this discharge . Plus folate and calcium supplements are prescribed after 12 weeks of pregnancy.
