Asking for Self, Female, 34 years old, Abudhabi

I am now 36 weeks pregnant and my sugr was on borderline in GTT. Its going well and is under the range with my diet. I saw my doctor yesterday and sugar was normal till then. Today it was going high after meals. I only took roti sabzi greek yogurt etc. My doctor says that she dont want to go for early c section and can wait for two more weeks because my sugar levels are not high except today. I am monitoring my sugar at home 4 - 5 times a day. I just want to ask about diet. Does the roti increase sugar levels? Eggs? Greek yogurt and what fruits should I eat? I have already checked google but I want to ask from doctors. What should I include in my diet? I feel hungry after every two hours. If I dont eat, I become dizzy (but my sugar at that time is around 80 and 90).

My main concern is diet. Plz doctors on this forum help me and tell me what Pakistani foods should I eat to keep myself full and energetic amd also what fruits can be eaten؟ ? I have appointment after 1 week and I wa

Goid questions
and exactly the question that should be asked on this forum.
some basics first:
1) Roti, rice (medium glycemic indec carbs), being carbohydrates, will increase blood sugar. High carbohydarate veg like potatoes and peas will also do same.
2)bread, cornflakes, weetabix (high glycemic index carbs) will raise sugar MUCH MORE than chakki atta roti or basmati rice.
Now for diet advice:
1) Eat small amounts at 4 hour intervals. every time you eat, stop when you think you can take 1 or 2 more bites (bhook chor kar khaain)
2) greek yogurt, daal, salads, beans, channa chaat, sabzi fruit twice a day (eg 1apple, small mango, 1 pear, 12-15 small grapes) 4 tablespoon rice or 1 small chappati once or twice a day are good optins
3) 1 egg a day is very good, milk is also good once or twice a day
4) if sugars are increasing after meals, take a walk for 10 minutes inside the house after meals. walking will bring sugar down. walking is also good to ease delivery.

Thanks dr. My dr not prescribing amy medicine she just told me to control with diet. My sugar is usually around and below 120 in random or afyer meals. Sometimes it goes 145 if I eat roti (now I am avoiding it). I am sendingy sugar values to my dr daily. I was just concerned about the diet. Also I wanted to know if 145-148 sugar level is too dangerous?

In pregnancy, sugar 2 hours after meal should be 115. In pregnancy it is important to check sugar ONE hour after meal which should be 140 or less.
The higher the sugar level, the more chances of problems during delivery or for baby.
If sugars are higher , delivery at 37 weeks should be planned.

for sugar levels in pregnancy, you do not need a gynecologist, you need a medical specialist, endocrinologist or specialised and experienced diabetes educator

You should take 3 large meals and 3 small meals in a day.
Restrict your carbs consumption that includes roti, rice, bread.
Do atleast 30 min walk daily
and if diet control is not maintaing your levels you need medication because this is the critical time of your gestation.
fruits,nuts,vegetables,salad,meat..they are all good for you.
take care
