Talk to General Practitioner on Throat Fungal Infection

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 35 years old, Lahore

My mouth and throat burns when I eat spicy food since a month.I ate chilli chips and I thought they caused this but when I searched on google it says I have fungus infection.my mouth dries in the middle of the night and I wake up holding my throat and trying to breathe.my tongue is a little white and now from six days I have phlegm which irritates me a lot.I have problem swallowing food and sometimes even water sticks on my tongue and it’s hard to swallow.A mild case of this happened to me in 2016 and I went to a gastroenterologist(attaching his prescription below) Shall I start taking anti-fungal tablets or do I have to see a doctor I’m avoiding to go to one in this condition. Please suggest me what to do .

Hello, the throat needs to be examined thoroughly.. You should consult ENT specialist or atleast GP in person.
Meanwhile, you can have Tab Panadol 500mg 2 tabs as per need to relieve pain.. and do gargles with warm water. It will relieve you.
And You can use Nilstat drops for oral thrush.. but the diagnosis can be confirmed only by seeing it and examining it.. Thank you

share the picture of your tongue first as it will help in the diagnosis. You might be having esophagitis as well as these swallowing symptoms suggest. Also avoid spicy foods and cold or chilled drinks, water. Take plenty of water. Use warm water before meal.
