Recovery in stroke is usually very slow and it depends on treatment of cause and physiotherapy. so controll the blood pressure with exercise physiotherapy.Regarding new edema, it may b dependent edema or some failure of heart or kidneys .and medicines too cause this. so proper follow up by PHYSICIAN is needed to rule out causes.
Querry for stroke. Dear. Allah (swt) give ur father complete recovery. The medicines he is taking is okay. Proper physical therapy should be given to the patients. Patient should be mobilized. Make him move he hands feet and walk. Swelling on hand and feet can be due to non mobilization and may be side effect of medicine wch he takes for bp. But it seems due to mobility problem. No one can say how fast he can recover. Wth proper physical therapy will help inshaAllah.

Dr Zubair and Dr Mustafa have given you very good advice. I will endorse that. Follow that religiously.
Physiotherapy is the most important part of recovery. The consultation with physiotherapist is very important but usually if you follow the instructions very well frequent visits can be replaced by treatment at home by Family members with weekly visits to physiotherapist.
You must start moving the arms and other parts which are not moving with the help of Family member. Such movements over the period of weeks give immense improvement
It is ischemic stroke, probably caused by high BP and high cholesterol levels. Recovery depends on the size and site of stroke. If the size of stroke is large, it will take longer time. Continue exercise and physiotherapy, it will make your father able to walk. Sometimes, recovery is full, sometimes partial and sometimes no recovery is achieved. Believe in Allah Almighty and serve your father in a best way. Subscribe my medical videos channel: www.youtube.com/c/DoctorsHub.
Recovery after stroke is very slow. It even takes from months to years. And
as per full recovery is concerned. No one can comment on it and no one can
define a specific time frame for it as well.
Beside medicine the most imp thing in his recovery is physiotherapy.
Regular and proper physiotherapy will play a key role in the improvement of
his condition.
Aoa he needs a proper diagnosis and treatment by a competent physician
