Talk to Urologist on Varicocele

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Male, 29 years old, Lahore

Doctor diagnosed me with mild left sided varicocele a year back. I have constant slight pain and discomfort on the left side and groin. Its not severe but bothers me. Conservative management helps no more. Erection etc is although top notch. What are my options? The varicocele seems very small even on ultrasound

better use a scrotal support and a painkiller when the pain is bothering... The last option is surgery which can be done in different ways but surgery is not usually a good option for such a small varicocele as recurrence is very common and complications such as hydrocele formation is also common... So try to be on conservative regimen

There is a trend for Microsurgical Inguinal/Sub-Inguinal surgery in the west with very few recurrence rates and complications. Is there any surgeon that has the expertise of it in Pakistan? Because the pain and discomfort is making me severely depressed.

There are a lot of people doing micro surgical varicocelectomy in different areas of Pakistan. There's a fair chance that surgery may not be able to relieve the pain as such mild varicocele may not be the cause of this pain

Use underwear which support the testis and use analgesics. If these things are not helpful then get varicocelectomy done, which is helpful in 50 - 60% of cases
