Pulmonologist / Lung Specialist in Abbottabad - Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Yasin

Asthmatic attacks are sometime difficult to predict. At times patient may be in much trouble. It seems patient has not learnt adequately about his asthma and how to act during attacks. This patient needs urgent rescue medicine in the form of inhalers, nebulizer, etc. And also to contact nearby dr for help. He also needs education about his long term management. Should not take it casual. But if properly understood his disease it becomes quite easy to handle most of the times.

Thankyou so much doctor for your detailed response.
He is currently taking antibiotics but I want him to start inhaler/nebulizer.
Can you please guide me regarding that.
I know it is extremely difficult to diagnose and prescribe in this situation but I am very much tensed.
Can you guide me towards how to manage his situation before we consult a nearby doctor.
Thankyou.

Patient seems to be exposed to some pathogen foreign to this country. Sputum cs can be done although the antibiotics have been started already. May be there is fungal infection of some kind. It is better to do the chest x ray.
