Talk to Psychiatry on Confidence Issue, Social Isolation

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Male, 21 years old, Sahiwal

I can't speak at public places.I have zero confidence. I have tried many times to speak up with confidence like in delivering presentation in class but when i try to speak i feel very nervous and my voice changes to childish-like and also sometimes forget what to speak ... Also cant bear minor insult by anyone or something said by anybody about me about my self-esteem and i thinks a lot about that... Moreover i am very socially isolated and quiet all the time.... cant express my feelings to anyone how to overcome these problems?

This can be social anxiety. This is treatable. I suggest you to see a psychiatrist for detailed assessment and if its social anxiety then occasionally medication but mostly psychotherapy can help to overcome this. Good luck

Welcome and thank you for your concern, yes you have a Social Anxiety
and the avoidance behavior is the main reinforcer of the disease, but the diagnosis is made after proper psychiatric assessment because psychiatrist has to look into the psychosocial issues and underlying depression symptoms too and plan to proper management with the patient, in which medication and counseling are required, in Social Anxiety counseling has more authentic role but for the symptoms control medications are also required, Thanks
