Asking for Other, Male, 4 years old, Karachi
My son (4 years old) urinate to the left side. His urine stream is not straight. We got him checked by a pediatric surgeon and he suggested a minor surgery for the straightening of the organ and the smaller pee hole as diagnosed by him. My concern is, 1-Will it be painful? 2- How many days will it take to heal? 3- What if we don't go for the surgery? (any disadvantages)
i can answer your questions only when i physically see the child .
there is condition hypospadias thats common in children with narrowed opening .
i think its needs examination before commenting on your questions .
Need to examine the patient to give an opinion.
Decision can only be made after examination.
1. it is painful for first few days following surgery after which the pain subsides
2. that depends on the nature of disease but usually patient is mobilized with in 4 to 5 days and can run or walk normally by 2 weeks
3. i cannot answer this question unless i have examined the patient in detail.
best of luck
