what did the doctor tell you about the cause of fever .. normally phenergen is not prescribed for only simple fever .. as regards your question .. there is some sedation with phenergen as a side effect
phenergen is anti histamine. not for fever .
please avoid in infants and toddlers

I probably agree with most responses of other doctors. Pheregan has been used widely for irritable sick small children either for sleep/ irritability or otherwise. It not a remedy for fever neither is it very safe in younger children.
....I don’t know the age and other symptoms of this child. May be the prescribing doctor had something else in mind. I would not blame anyone unless I know the entire story! Thank you
