Asking for Other Male 1 , Rawalpindi
I know someone who recently recieved IPV abroad at 2 months of age. After coming to Pakistan he received OPV after 14 days. Is there anything to worry. Since the opv he has diarrhea. Last two episodes has streak of blood in it. It this normal?
no worries sir . dysentry is not linked with opv. you should start flagyl for dysentry plus enterogermina ampule daily 1 time
opv can cause diarrhea but not blood in stool . observe the baby if further simmilar episode or with other signs and symtoms should be taken seriously as 2 month of age is too young .
Blood in stool is alarming. Need stool tests for proper evaluation
Streak of blood in loose stool, so better to b seen by pediatrician
Though taking OPV after 2 weeks of IPV is not appropriate yet it should not worry you. Loose stools are a less common manifestation but again it should not worry you. Streaks of blood are not important for one or two times. Do observe, if this continues and increases in amount then get stool test and CBC with CRP tested. Plz share the current situation. What milk the baby is taking?
It turned out to be infection. Started and completed injection rocephin. Alhumdullilah much better. Now he is much active, taking proper feeds. Due to diarrhea, he developed moderate diaper rash(which sometimes bleed too) which keeps him awake all night long. I am using sudocream for now. Can i use hydrozole cream as well?

Dear! Are you expecting Amoebic dysentery in 2 month baby? That would quite uncommon so Flagyl may not be required. Also what enterogermina has to do with dysentery? Plz enlighten.
