Talk to Pediatrician on Melatonin Drops For 3 Months Old

Aoa respected doctors, my 3 months old son has not been sleeping well for many days. His sleeping period has become very short but he feeds properly (ma sha Allah). Our pediatrician suggested to give Nitone or Oramel 8 drops daily which contains Melatonin. Is melatonin safe for 3 months old? If no, please suggest something else. Thanks
