The early part of breast milk can be a cause for greenish stools if sides are changed early without giving the infant a chance to empty them. In diarrhoea the green bile pigments do not get a chance to turn yellow or brown in older children because of hurried passage through the gut. At his age all you need to do for frequent stools is to feed him frequently, preferably on breast exclusively, to prevent deficiency of water or dehydration. If the stools are watery you may use ORS or oral rehydration solution.
