Talk to Pediatrician on Bed Wetting

person-avatar

Asking For Someone else, Daughter, Female, 6 Years old, Rawalpindi

My daughter is 6 years old and since the past 1 year she frequently wets her bed. If I take her to the toilet after she goes to sleep then that’s fine but if I don’t take her then she wakes up after passing the urine on the bed. This didn’t happen before. She rarely used to do it on the bed before. I don’t know if it’s a problem or she’s more used to of me taking her to the washroom now.

She didn’t remain completely dry but rarely used to wet the bed. Urine RE had been performed. And there are no visible symptoms.. I feel that while I was training my younger son I started taking her to the washroom myself thinking that I wouldn’t have to wake up again but what happened is she started depending on me and stopped waking up on her own .. same is the case with my son now.. if I don’t take him he will do it on the bed.. so I feel maybe I have made them dependant on me.. what can be done in this case ?

Stop her liquid intake 2 hours before her bed time and monitor her for a week. Meanwhile get her examined by a medical specialist and if her medical reports are OK then consult a mental health professional.
