Talk to Pediatric Surgeon on Left Undescended Testicle

person-avatar

Asking for Other, Male, 03 years old, Karachi

At birth on 0 4-01-18 my son's left testicle was not in the sac but could be felt around. 7th week it could be felt in the sac. He got circumcision done at 13weeks, and now again testicle is not in the sac. Why?

Member of Marham-Forum

It could be retractile testes which may be in the scrotum some time and some time it migrates upward
Not to worry about this condition
But actual diagnosis can only be made with complete investigation
USG not required at present

There is no need to worry . sonography is absolutely normal. it’s simply retractile testis.

According to Dr. Naveed Haider, its not retractile. But its rightly present now and normal. We, parents were being extra cautious I guess.
JazakAllah. I really appreciate the response and help received from Marham.

It may be a retractile testis or what was felt in the scrotum was not a testis. Please see a paediatric Surgeon to ensure that testis is well descended or to do surgery if not descended. Surgery is deferred until 6 months to ensure nature takes its course.

Sorry for late response
There are 2 possibilities in this particular case
1.Retractile testis
2.Testis impalpable due to Hydrocele

Thanks Dr. Hasnain. Hydrocele seems legit. What is its background? And treatment? Is it something to be treated
