Not sure who has advised to carry out MRCP for this age. It is a waste of time. I only do ultrasound scan if I suspect biliary atresia and then proceed with operative cholangiogram and liver biopsy, which can be done laparoscopically. This operation should be done around 6 to 8 weeks of age. At 4 months of age, if child has biliary atresia then the only best option is liver transplant. Having said all this you need to see physically see a paediatric surgeon to make the best clinical decision for your child.
