I am 21 years old girl with height 5'4. I am quite underweight with my weight being 38Kgs. I have read that protein shakes are a good source to increase weight. Please guide that if I can take whey protein for weight gain without any workout. Also guide if it have any harmful effects. Thank you

You can increase your caloric intake,plus add some cheese in your breakfast along with tha egg made in some butter.

Dear i would recommend you to take natural protein like animal or plant protein. Eat chicken, liver, beef and mutton also you can alternate with beans and legumes.

You don’t need to take whey protein specifically. These supplements do require workout with them since they are high in protein and our bodies aren’t used to hence they can have some impact on our kidneys if taken without supervision/consultation of a Dietician.
