Asking for Mother, Female, 65 years old, Kuwait

My mother has kidney disease and her creatinine levels shot up last year for which she had two dialysis sessions, after that her levels went down AH and she didnt need further dialysis. We keep a check by getting renal profile tests every month. The doctor prescribed her sodamint tablets 2x3 times per day, she has been taking them since Oct last year. I wanted to ask if its ok to discontinue them now, as we are unable to find them here during lockdown (not currently in pakistan). Please advice.

Yes you can...if she is not complainting of any difficulty in breathing and if her "bicarbonate" level is more than 18 atleast. Which is usually mentioned in the lab report of urea, creatinine and electrolytes.
You can also reduce the dose of the medication for example 2 tablets daily or 1 tablet 3 times a day on alternate days if you don't have the tablets in sufficient amount.
