Talk to Hematologist on Thalassemia

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 23 years old, Isl

Hi! My parents are both thalassemia minor carriers, my sister has thalassemia major, my two siblings have thalassemia minor(carries only). My reports show that I am not a carrier(neither minor nor major). My query is that, if i get married to someone with thalessmia minor trait, are there any chances of children being thalassemia major, given that I am not a carrier?

if your report says you do not have trait then you can safely marry a person with trait because in that case children will have trait but not the full blown disease
