Asking for Self, Male, 26 years old, Lahore
I used to have severe back pain since past few years I do not even remember. However, recently my employer did medical test of me in which I was diagnosed with high uric acid to 7.4mg/dL. After doing some research over the issue, I came to the conclusion that exercise and a diet subtracting proteins and adding high fruits and vegetables along with excessive water will be really helpful for me. However, before being diagnosed, I have been running 30 minutes 5 days per week and having orange (kinnow) juice large glass almost every other day. It was a coincidence that I had been doing exercise and having fruits even before getting diagnosed. However, I really like to eat mutton, so I ate it a lot as well. And before this I never knew proteins could be harmful, but it now actually seems to be an "Aasteen ka sanp". The doctors here, other than suggesting me to visit their clinic, kindly tell me what diet should I be having plus do I need any medication. Because I do have pain in
Greetings! If you are not feeling anything bad due to this raised Uric Acid Level then no need to be depressed. Exercise rather leads to increased Serum Uric Acid Level especially when you sweat profusely as in Long distance running which you have been doing. Secondly, a very high protein diet can also lead to increased Uric Acid Level. However, you can easily lower it down by adequate hydration, less proteins for some time (especially avoid red meat). I would not advise you to stop exercising but avoid over exertion as excess of everything is harmful. You may as well consult a Certified Nutritionist to help you out in planning a diet appropriate for your workout.

Sir, the back pain is severe and it vanishes miraculously while I am running. And comes back after about an hour of running. Do you think that I will be needing no medication?

In my honest opinion, you do require a consultation for severe backache. Your present exercise routine only provides a temporary relief, there are some exercises designed specifically for Patients with backache. A consultation while help you choose the best option for you whether it’s a medicine or a change in exercise pattern. A few investigations might be required to find out the cause of the backache.
