Talk to Gynecologist on Uterine Fibroids

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 40 years old, Karachi

Hi, I have a question regarding pregnancy. I had ectopic pregnancy in 6th week, thats when I knew I have multiple uterine fibroids. We planned again, and I got pregnant after few months with IUGR. Our baby passed away after 6 weeks of delivery in 28th week. I am aware that, removing fibroid may reduce the chance of conceiving baby or possibly Drs may need to remove uterus. Given this situation, I would like to know if we should plan again? considering I am 40 already. Any advice will be appreciated.

Yes I think u should give it another try
It's a high risk pregnancy though
It's usually the submucosal fibroids that cause infertility or miscarriages
But yes intramural fibroids can also cause different types of complications
Going for myomectomy with multiple fibroids may lead to 40-50/ chances of hysterectomy
I think u should try again
Reasons of iugr should b investigated further as what led to iugr No doubt pregnancy with fibroids is a high risk pregnancy but not every time is a bad outcome
Take care
