Episiotomy involves cut into internal part of vagina, muscle and skin, it is repaired in reverse order after delivery some times there is extension of the internal cut or some other internal lacerations which can take longer to stitch back, pelvic floor becomes lax after repeated vaginal births but after delivery you can do exercises to make it tighter you can request your doctor to do elective episiotomy in order to prevent any tears
