Asking for Self, Female, 35 years old, Lahore
Hello dr I got my 3rd c section done on 21st of september and an IUD was inserted at the time of operation... All went fine and on 5th of nov i got my regular periods but with very heavy bleeding which i never encountered before in my life... dr told me that sometimes it is normal upto 3 months and prescribed me transamin and ponston forte for 3 months at the time of regular bleeding and now my periods started at 6th of this month with very heavy flow and also taking my medicine... I have not done any latest reports... I just want to ask is it normal? Otherwise what type of treatment i should follow? I have no medical history

yes thts right sum women experience heavy bleeds wth IUCD...and so tranxaminic acid and ponston forte r advised-a period of six months is given fr observation so tht IUCD settles down in ur body-but in my opinion a superior IUS is available-y dont u opt fr tht-its cald Mirena-same it is used fr five and ten years-it duznt allow heavy bleeds-it is actually the treatment for dysfunctional uterine bleeding but it serves as a contraceptive as well-a bit expensive but no solid evidence of its systemic effects hv been observed-complaince of the patients is also much more superior...now ball is in ur court-wt to choose fr urself...
