Talk to Gynecologist on Having Frequent UTI
Asking for Sister, Female, 28 years old, Dubai
My sister lives in Pakistan and her husband lives in Dubai but whenever she visits him and they have sexual relationship she gets UTI.. What can be the possible reason? And this time she is even feeling pain in lower abdomen while walking.

Assalam o alikum. yes uti can be transferred during sex. both of them should do urine culture and accordingly antibiotic. good personal hygiene and plenty of fluids.

UTI is usually due to minor trauma associated with intercourse and infection afterwards. Good personal hygiene ( washing immediately after intercourse, washing from front to behind) and drinking plenty of fluids can help. A short course of antibiotics may be required
Lower abdominal Pain could be the sign of PID ( pelvic infection ) Your sister should visit nearby gynecologist for internal examination, necessary tests and treatment accordingly.
