Please guide how safe is the chest x-ray during pregnancy. My due date is 30 Oct 2021. Also let me know what are the risks we have.

Hi, thanks for query. Regarding x ray chest during pregnancy and risks I conclude you mean risks to fetus ? I woud say that radiations risk from mother’s x ray chest to fetus at any stage of pregnancy is negligible and it is quite safe when done with abdominal shielding and avoid duplication. However it should be done only when advised by a qualified health professional with an urgent, clear and definite indication for it. I hope it suffice
It is unsafe during pregnancy.
It is associated with fetal abnormalities if conducted during pregnancy.
However , it may be done with abdominal shield in case of emergency
chest x ray with sheild can be done in emergency cases
