Asking for Self, Female, 34 years old, Lahore
Hi, I visited a general surgeon a month ago as I wa suspicious I had umbilical hernia (8 months post partum . He asked me to lie down and do a straight leg raise and said it’s a para umbilical hernia. I got an ultrasound done a month ago nothing was found. Got another ultrasound done yesterday and the radiologist wasn’t able to pick anything and he said there’s no hernia. Which diagnosis should I trust?
May be divarication of recti which most of time do not need surgery Clinical examination is more reliable

But I’ve a really small pea like lump on the left side of my umbilicus and on poking it I feel there’s a hole in my abdomen
I can not comment regarding conflict of presence of hernia unless i examine you, however you can have CT scan of your abdomen and forward me the pics.
Umbilical or Paraumbilical hernia is usually diagnosed and confirmed on clinical examination by any surgeon. Get it examine by another surgeon.

You should re consult a surgeon along with those ultrasounds especially if you are symptomatic i.e if you feel pain or local swelling and they are not settling.
clinical examination should be done and you should go on and trust ure symptoms.
