Asking for Husband, Male, 29 years old, Islamabad
These are the ultrasound reports. Kinddly let me know this size of stones can b removed via medicines.?? N if extraction needed whole gall bladder would extracted r only stones can b removed from bladder
Asa The gallbladder is a factory for making stones. The factory and the stones will need to be taken out together. In this era this is the best option. Laparoscopic key hole surgery is the best at present.
Whole gallbladder should be removed by laparoscopic. Its gold standard procedure.
Need to remove whole Gallbladder
The standard treatment for stones in the gallbladder is removal of the gallbladder itself , not removal of the stones, it can be done Laparoscopically ( key whole surgery ) or through open technique
laparoscopy is best for such cases. patient is fit to eat and out of bed in 12 hours usually. and only mild reduction in fat intake is advisable.
The ideal treatment of stones in gall bladder is removal of gall bladder by surgery. Medicines are not very effective.

Unfortunately gallstones cannot be removed via medicines and the whole gallbladder is removed along with the stones. On the bright side this is a very common and risk free procedure with minimal complications. If your patient has recurrent pain episodes then its best to go for surgery and don't delay as it can lead to further complications. Laparoscopic operation will only take 20 mins.

Unfortunately surgery is the only choice your husband has, medicines dont help with gall stones removal. Its a 20 min procedure with almost nil complications
You plan would be
History

Discussion of disease
Choice of surgery for symptomatic Gallstones is laparoscopic cholecystectomy ( which is removal of gallbladder along with stones through 3 separate small incisions ) after preoperative preparation
