Talk to General Physician on Test Reports Of TB Or Hepatitis
Asking for Self, Male, 20 years old, Lahore
I have some medical issues related to my digestive system. I went to a medical specialist. During the session, he wrote some tests including HBsAG + Anti HCV saying that may be I have TB. When the reports came, they were negative. I want to know whether the above mentioned tests are for TB or Hepatitis? If these tests are negative, it means I do not have any TB infection?

I have some symptoms like weight loss, loss of appetite, weakness of intestines and kidneys but I do not have symptoms like fever, chills, night sweating etc. Whenever I go to a doctor, after listening to my problems, the first thing he asks is about TB. Thats why I want to confirm whether I have TB or not.

This is screening test for hepatitis B and C (kala yarkaan)
These test does not tell that you have TB or not.
Do you have fever, weight loss? Loss of appetite?
Any one in the family or close one had TB?

Well.. have he checked your thyroid?
Plus TB sometimes create non specific sysmptoms, specially when its in intestine.
Ultrasound abdsomen or CT abdomen could help in diagnosis if there are lymph nodes are prominent..
Other test could help diagnosis is ESR more than 80
WBC raise with lymphocytosis
And TB SPOT
But again these are non specific..

My TSH is normal. ESR value is 10. I went for ultrasound of abdomen several months before and it was normal too. I just want to know the most general purpose screening test for TB to clear the doubts of doctor regarding TB.
