Asking for Self, Female, 25 years old, Lahore

I have been experiencing itching on my eyelids (upper, lower) and on the outer side skin of eyes a week and a half ago. At first i thought it's dryness so i put on lotion. It gave a little burning feeling when i put lotion but that usually happens when i put on lotion on my dry skin. But it didn't work. Then i felt little cuts when i touched my lower eye lids but they weren't visible when i looked at them. Tried using glycerin as moisturizer. It helps temporarily but after the itching continues. Also there is redness on the areas i mentioned. The skin near lower eye lids and above cheeks also itches. Today both the eyes are a little swollen. And on the lower eyelids it looks like permanent wrinkles and i didn't have them before this condition. Please guide as to what it might be and who should i see, a dermatologist or an ophthalmologist. I have an eyesight of 3 in the right eye and 2.75 in the left, as well. There is no itching in the eyes though.

No. Itching is only on the areas stated.
Never had any allergies. Just some occasional outbreaks of pimples near menstruation period.
No medication on the eyelids. I used systane eye drops for lubrication of eyes when they dry up while using laptop.

Thanks for sharing ur concern. It definitely feels bad but it’s a manageable condition. Don’t use any strong steroids in that area as they will damage the skin. Can u tell me if u recently used any new lotion shampoo, worked in dusty dry environment ? sunlight exposure ? Sand exposure ? Any itching in that area and puffiness and if u can share the pictures of ur eyes. Best would be to take an o line appointment so that medication can be given after examination and a bit more of needed history. hope that helps.

AOA! It looks like skin issue . As by recurrent itching you caused cuts on the delicate skin of eyelids. Better use anti allergy tablet daily for 5 days and use some antibiotic cream on the area too. After 5 days if it doesn’t get better take video consultation for the physician to look at the skin condition. You might need to see dermatologist if the condition persist for long. Thanks
