Talk to General Physician on Diabetes Initial Medicine

Asking for Self, Female, 34 years old, Karachi

Aoa..i m 34 years old and recently diagnosed with hyper thyroid and diebetes. Hba1c 7.3 Fasting range 118 to 145 2 hours after meal 190 to 245 Dr prescribed me half tagipmet tablet 50/1000 with dinner. I heard normally initial treatment starts with glucophage. So i want to have second opinion is this medicine ok to take. Secondly can i manage these levels with excercise alone instead of taking medicine?

Yes, DM can be managed with exercise but if exercise alone can not control the high sugar level then medications are being prescribed by the physician. Life style modifications include regular exercise, decreased carbohydrate intake and low fatty diets. Glucophage is prescribed for the treatment of DM type but if the sugar level can not be managed by the glucophage alone then we prescribe combination of different medications.
