my father has leaky valve, doctor has advised him to get valve changed. kindly tell which material of valve is more durable, metal or plastic?

for young patients metallic valves are recommended but tgat requires lifelong warfarinisation
if patient is old age,bioprosthetic valves are recommended.That requires 3 months of warfarinisation.
