Asking for Mother, Female, 57 years old, Karachi
My mother is diabetic and suffered from blurred vision or rhinopathy due to contionous high sugar level, she got treatment for that and from a year her sugar is under control , my question is , can glasses be used so that she can see things clearly ? Or is there any any cure for the vision she lost till now ,or anything thought which she can see magnified things like glasses . Thank you
She needs to be checked by an eye spec preferably vitreoretinal surgeon.. Depending on the condition of her retina treatment will be done that could be either Injections in the eye, Laser or even surgery.. Glasses will not work till retinal pathology is cured
I suggest to visit an eye specialist is better idea than online consultation. Duration of sugar is a high risk factor to develop diabetic retinopathy. I guess her vision fluctuates due to diabetes. We can't offer glasses as a solution as vision loss due to diabetes is permanent.

Her eye sight is stable now, dr has replaced some fluid in eyes a year ago and it was about to remove that In march2020, but due to current situation we couldn't visit, asking for general Knowledge, so that next visit I can ask dr about this.

Aoa,thanks for consultation it better to perform thoroug eye to establish the the cause of decrease vision and the appropriate advice could be given
Diabetes causes visual problems in many ways. Some are reversible and a few irreversible. Only examination in detail can define the fate of visual impairment. Please get her check up and follow the instructions by your eye doctor.
