Asking for Self, Female, 23 years old, Karachi
Aoa, I have been dealing with this issue for the past 4 to 5 months now. Everytime I try to speak I feel like my throat is closing and there's constant hoarseness in my voice. I feel like I'm choking on something. Which makes me wanna start whispering everytime I speak. Also, my voice trembles and throat hurts a lot when I speak. I have seen 2 ENT specialists who diagnosed me with acute tonsillitis and prescribed antibiotics for it but the problem still persists. I don't know if it's tonsillitis because I dont have any other symptom of tonsillitis such as fever. The medicines that I was taking helped decrease the pain a little but the tightness is still there. I don't know what to do now and I'm really stressed.
Tonsils have nothing to do with the voice. Problem has to be in the Larynx(Voice Box). So larynx need to be examined.

Need to examine your voice box with a fibreoptic camera scope. May then reach a diagnosis after history and examination

One of the specialists that I went to did use the fiberoptic camera to see if there's something wrong with the voice box. But he said there's nothing wrong. Can it be related to stress and anxiety?
You need evaluation to rule out voice disorders. Get a, ent consult. Anxiety is the last diagnosis when all are ruled out.
