Asking for Self, Male, 22 years old, Karachi
3 months ago, my executive test, which included lipid profile test showed cholesterol level of 239. That scary number forced me to change my lifestyle and eating habits. I excluded oil, fast food, sugar and all unhealthy stuff from my diet. After 1 month, my report showed a cholesterol level of 167. Subsequently, I resumed my old eating habits. My question is how often should I test my cholesterol levels? Moreover, do I need to maintain the healthy diet in order to keep the cholesterol levels low?
Initially cholesterol shud be checked after 3 months if an intervention then u can check it once a year and i think you ul have to
get a complete profile done
fasting lipid profile
we need to see which fraction of cholesterol is high
u can get fasting lipid profile once an year

Hi Mam these were the result of full lipids at that time. But my question is. Is there any mistake in these numbers? Because my HDL was 37, LDL was 113 and Triglycerides were 198.
Now the question is cholesterol is what I have read on internet Cholesterol = HDL(37) + LDL(113) + Triglycerides(198/5) = 190. But in my report it is written as 239. So it an error.
Thanks alot in advance mam for your help

Healthy diet doesnt mean u shud give up soemthing rather have everything moderately. So your plate shud be not more than an a4 sheet circumference if put on plate. Half of than shud be green vegs. Quarter carbs like rice or bread the other quarter shud be protein by chickn fish or lean meat
