Asking For Self, Male, 44 Years old, Riyadh Saudi Arabia
Hi,i m diabetic type 2 since 4years.my recent HBA1c is 7.9,two weeks before I did my C-peptide test, which is 2.30ng/ml(reference range is 1.1-4.4) & 0.77pmol/L(reference range is 0.37-1.47).i want to the phenomenon how c-peptide is in normal range but sugar level r high.
Nothing to worry about the HbA1c, you just have to control your diet all will be ok INSHALLAH
Now c-peptide has no role in diabetes diagnosis, was previously used to add to diagnose Type1 diabetes in which it is very low in these patients but now more reliable and less cumbersome test are available to diagnose type1 DM. In contrast in type2 diabetes in which case there is insulin resistance and we know that c-peptide is released from pancreas along with insulin both may be high or normal.
Ur hba1c is high that's the issue,,, u r having type 2 diabetes so even insulin levels may be normal in ur body.
