AoA. I have severe hairfall and hair thinning problem these days. It's causing bald patches on scalp. Doctor prescribed me Reeon and Mexaderm in supplement and Hairmax minoxidil 2% spray. I have continuously used them for a month. But all the problems are still there. My blood reports are appx ok. Doctor said you have a little infection according to report. Please tell me where the real problem lies. I have depression now. Marriage fixed in coming Oct.

Dear patient , thank you for your query. congratulations on getting Married.
Before we get into the details, You need to take it easy, give it time and not let depression take over you. Treatment for such conditions needs time and patience. Any treatment you take for hair will at least take 3 months to show some effect. anticipating quick dramatic results will only leave you more worried. So you need to understand the cause of your hairloss and work with your dermatologist to treat it accordingly.
Now, hairfall isn't as simple as we take it to be. Take it as a sign, from your body indicating deficiencies or a disease.
First off we need to look into it to identify the the type of hairloss (there is diffuse hairloss, male or female pattern alopecia/ patchy alopecia areata/ alopecia after stress like after severe diet or trauma). Also iron (yours seems okay from the report) and vitamin deficiencies, various infections, and diseases can also cause hairloss. So a consultation with a specialist and a detailed history, and may be some tests will help you reach core cause of it and deal with it accordingly.
First line would mostly be topically applied creams or lotions. Along with multivitamins.
Apart from that PRP works really well, improves the calibre of hair and helps new hair growth.
Apart from all this, a good diet is of paramount importance. So a diet rich in protein, fresh vegetables, dairy and good water intake is essential.

Thanks for such a satisfying reply, doctor.
The problem is that Doctors here don't tell what the disease actually is.
You wrote about types of hairloss e.g., diffuse hairloss, male or female pattern alopecia/ patchy alopecia areata/ alopecia after stress like after severe diet or trauma.... The doctor I consulted with is one the senior ones here but didn't tell about any of the type, though my hair have lost the volume.
My diet is ok. I never fall for severe diet plans. Only stress visits me quite often.
Now what do you suggest? Should I keep taking the supplements.
Thanks.

Thank you so much, Your kind words mean a lot. Yes I would suggest give it time, and continue these medicines. I would like to see you in person for a more detailed consultation and workup. We might need some tests (thyroid function, vitamin d, and hormone tests) depending upon your case. And also work out a procedure to kick start your regrowth process.

Dear Pt, Hope you are well. We need to examine you and run few tests so can come to diagnosis as diagnosis is more imp then trying everything. I won't recommend to start of with PRP... Go with basics and all will be sorted. Regards, Dr SMansoor
