Its alopecia areta. a autoimmune condition.
if it is single then apply betaderm lotion once daily for a month. if multiple and progressing then he may need injections of steroid . so in that case please visit to your dermatologist.

This is called Alopecia Areata. It's in his blood. His brothers/sisters cousins too may have had it.
He needs to be examined first to see the condition of the hair follicles etc and needs advice on it's prevention. Because it may re occur at the same place or any other place on the scalp or anywhere on the body
