Asking For Someone else, Mother, Female, 65 Years old, Karachi
My mother has been undergoing cardiologist treatment for quite a while. She has undergone angiography (nothing conclusive), and numerous other scans with no definitive results that she has heart disease. Most recently she was asked to undergo Coronary artery calcium scan and results just arrived. While we wait for her appointment with the doctor, i needed to know if these results indicate anything. Thanks in advance.
It means she has minor calcium in that coronary artery. If she had normal angiogram then calcium score doesn’t add to anything. If angiogram was 4 or 5 years ago then it can be repeated. Nothing much to be concerned based on calcium score.
